Renwick School Athletics day - 2022

Our Y2 - Y8 children meet at Athletic Park to compete against their peers in the following disciplines: shot put, discus, high jump, long jump, sprints and House relays.  The students performed and behaved exceedingly well which was a reflection of the time and effort both staff and students had put in leading up to this special day.Our NE and Y1 students remained at school where they also had a day of fun, inviting parents along to meet one another, watch their child/ren and participate.A ...

Overall Champion School for Group Day 2022

Congratulations to all students who entered their work in the Group Day.  The combined tally of our entries collectively together came out as Champion Overall winning school.  This is a huge feat and one that we should all be very proud off. Thanks to the parents and the organisers for a great day and result....

Ki O Rahi 2022

Wednesday 2 November we had 4 teams travel to Redwoodtown School to compete in the Ki-O-Rahi tournament.  The skill level and competition was extremely high.  Thanks to Tore and Svenja (staff) for the time that put into the teams to prepare them for the day.Our Y7/8 teams ended up 3rd and 4th.  Our Y5/6 teams ended up 4th and 5th.Ka pai to you all....

Taiopenga 2022

We were treated to an outstanding performance from the Renwick School and Te Pā Wānanga at the local Taiopenga held at Marlborough Girls College.  The many hours of practice and commitment shone well on stage and the clapping and happiness at the end was a sign of proud parent community.A huge thanks to kaiako Lisa Sandrey and the kaiako of Te Pā Wānanga; Whaea Virgil, Whaea Jeanette, Whaea Kata and our kaiawhina for their expertise and total commitment.  Ka pai to our tamariki....

Inter school mountain biking event

What a great day it was on Friday with the group of 45 riders as we came home with the trophy as winning school.  Our riders performed incredibly with many of them finishing in the top 10.Once again a very proud principal and very grateful to the many parents who supported with transport....

Pets Day 2022

We have an incredible display of animals, baking and arts & crafts here at Renwick School.  The passion and understanding from the children about their pets is a true sign of the dedication and time they have given.   Another great display of outstanding organisation from FORS, staff and parents: Jo N, Ange D, Brenna, Caroline B, Ainsley B and more. At 2pm Prize Giving is to be held showcasing the winners and the successes.  Well done everyone for an outstanding display of support...

Fern, the falcon, comes to Renwick School

Maia whanau raised $616.60 from their crazy hair day in support of the Falcon Trust.  Today Fern, the falcon, Lizzie and Diana come to collect the money.  The children were an incredible audience who sang a waiata for Fern and shared their story about facts they had learnt and the Crazy Hair day they organised.Because the group had raised so much, it means they are now eligible to sponsor a falcon of their own.  Well done Maia, we are all very proud of you....

Menz Shed supports our young people

Every Friday I watch a small group disappear off to the Menz Shed to build and create new things.  Today I caught these young, proud builders who have all come back with a very colourful and well built trailer.Thank you to the team at the Renwick Menz Shed for your ongoing support....

We have a new path. Thanks Rob.

As we welcomed our new playground this year, it was quickly recognised that in the midst of winter, we had no access to the playground without having to tramp through mud.  The conversations started about a new pathway.A big thanks to Rob for creating a new path....

Pasifika Festival

On Saturday 24 September our Pasifika group performed at the Pasifika Festival.  What an incredible display of talent that confidently shared through song creating a fun atmosphere.  Congratulations to our school group we are all very proud of you....

Y 5-8 Renwick School swimming sports

Thursday 22 September we gathered at The Stadium to watch some of our students swim.  It was great to see students challenging themselves, supporting one another and for some swimming distances that were new for them.It was disappointing however, to only have some of the Y 5-8 students there and am working hard to identify how we can support and encourage more to attend in 2023....

Hayley, our solo entry at Science Fair

Hayley S stood proudly at the Marlborough Science Fair as she shared her learning.  Renwick School participates every second year but Hayley decided she wanted to share her learning this year as well.  Congratulations Hayley, your learning is outstanding.UPDATE:  We are proud to share that Hayley won Gold with her entry, and so rightly deserves the recognition.  Well done Hayley, enjoy spending the prize money....

Te Pā Wānanga Kapa Haka performance

On Wednesday 21 September Renwick kura was treated to an outstanding Kapa Haka performance from our tamariki at Te Pā Wānanga. The shared with us the performance they performed at the festival in Whakatū (Nelson). Māia Whanau hold a Crazy Hair Day

Māia Whanau have done a great job raising money for the NZ Falcon Trust- raising $600! Tino pai team for organising this and well done to all of the students that styled their hair in weird and wacky ways to support this amazing cause....

Bike safety with Pukahukahu

We have had the bike safety team back supporting and ensuring our Y6 are confident when riding on our local streets.   The group works through a number of skills in the school grounds before putting them into practice on the road.Thanks to the bike safety team for their help and support....

Like a Boss trading week

We have been highly impressed with our young leaders and the way they have organised and presented their businesses.  The standard of the products and stands, is that of a 'true' business and it is very encouraging to see so many students and members of the community purchasing.  The money raised goes towards their end of year camps.  It is great to talk to the children about their experience and the deep understanding they now have of running a business. 2022 Netball final - highlights

Congratulations to Renwick Rimu who won the grade one netball final against an unbeaten Fairhall Falcons team on Saturday. A hard fought game that saw the girls come from behind in the third quarter to secure the lead. Marlborough Mountain Bike Champion - Cam Anderson

On Friday we finished our mountain bike club with a visit from Marlborough's Mountain bike champion, Cam Anderson.Cam shared his life's story and his recent success at The Whistler where he won an enduro series by 0.04 of a second.Cam is currently at Marlborough Boys College as a Y12 student, with an incredible vision going forward.We are so proud to have such a talented mountain biker living in Blenheim....

Like A Boss - young leaders at Renwick School

At our staff hui we were treated to a presentation from two of our young leaders teams about the journeys they have been on to create their business. Each team, consisting between 3 - 5 people, each recieved $20 to get them started.  This money is repaid back and the rest of the proceeds will go towards camp costs. Inter-school Cross Country

Science, Technology, Electronic and Math (STEM) Friday Club

STEM is another Friday club option we offer to our tamariki.  Last week the group were learning coding which sits within STEM area.  For many of us, this is new learning but for our students, this will make up a lot of their learning and career pathways....

Maia whanau visits Falcon Trust

Last week Māia Whānau went to visit the Marlborough Falcon Conservation Trust inBrancott Road. This is a volunteer-run charitable trust which is focused on the conservationof the New Zealand falcon, known as the Kārearea, which is listed as “At Risk”. Lizzie talked to the students firstly about how they rescue hurt birds and help rehabilitate them before releasing them locally. Lego Club at Renwick School

We run Lego Club at Renwick School  to strengthen and develop social and communication skills through working collaboratively to create Lego pieces.  Each student has a role in the group which they are responsible for,Builder (who builds the Lego),  Supplier (who gives the correct Lego piece to the  builder)  and Engineer ( who reads the instructions and asks the Supplier to give the correct piece to the builder), each child gets the chance ...
