DIGITAL RESOURCES AT RENWICK SCHOOL

Devices are a vital tool to support students' learning and to help prepare them as digital citizens for the future. At Renwick School we have a BYOD expectation in the senior school - all students from Year 4-8 need to bring their own charged device each day. The device we recommend is a Chromebook - tablets do not operate with the Google Suite each student is required to use.

These devices are used throughout the day to support students in their learning, not only in the core areas of literacy and mathematics, but also to a large extent in the integrated inquiry work/project-based learning that the students undertake both collaboratively and independently. Junior classes have a selection of class Chromebooks and iPads to support their digital learning.

All students have online learning journals where they can post and reflect on their learning and showcase their work and learning to their wider whanau. School work can often be set and feedback given digitally.

All Y3-8 students have access to their learning goals through Hero and use their device to comment and upload learning against these goals.

A BYOD parent agreement must be signed by the parent before devices may be used at school.
