Te Pā Wānanga Kapa Haka performance

Te Pā Wānanga Kapa Haka

On Wednesday 21 September Renwick kura was treated to an outstanding Kapa Haka performance from our tamariki at Te Pā Wānanga. The shared with us the performance they performed at the festival in Whakatū (Nelson).

Out of 10 teams performing, the group got 3rd for Whakawātea (a term used for the final item of a traditional performing arts competition during which the performing group retreats from the stage), 2nd = for uniform and 3rd for Mita o te reo (rhythm, intonation, pronunciation and sound of a language, accent, diction, elocution, dialect, register.)

I would like to acknowledge the kaiako (staff) and whanau for the hours of support and dedication you’ve all given to this performance and I know you will all be very proud of the result.
