ALERT LEVEL 2 - We have got this. We have done this before and we know what to do. Our systems are all in place and our students are well versed on what we expect of them each day and what they can expect of us. Thank you everyone for being patient at the gates morning and afternoon, using the QR Code Tracer App is our preferred track and trace method as this enables a much more rapid response if there were any issues. Please download this onto you phones if you can.
Water Bottles for all students from tomorrow as we will be once again shutting down our water fountains as an extra precaution.
Thank you too for keeping children home if they are unwell. This is important.
We are back to small whanau assemblies at school now for the foreseeable future and we continue to run separate break times for Year 7&8 and the rest of the school to ensure plenty of space to spread out for play.
I will keep you posted if anything changes.
Online Reporting - Please follow the link below to a short 2min survey to all parents/whanau. We want to know at this very early stage how you have found our Seesaw Student Reporting system. We do know that we need to make some changes, but before we do, we want your input. Thank you in advance. Seesaw Online Reporting Survey Link
Community Get Together/Meeting - Provided we are still in AL2 or AL1 we are holding a parent/whanau community sharing evening at the Giesen Centre on TUESDAY September 1st, 7pm. There has been a lot happening at our school this year with all sorts of new developments and we want to share this with you. We will have some students sharing their work on the Adventure Playground and the Strategic Plan as well as the board providing an outline of the school direction. Our FORS Team will be providing refreshments and a light supper. Put this in your diary, we look forward to seeing you all.
Teacher/Parent/Student 3 Way Conferences - We will proceed with these from tomorrow practicing social distancing/hand sanitising as part of this process and will extend this for next week as well. We will open up the appointment booking system via our website for you to make new appointments if you missed your appointment from last week or today Monday. If you already have a time booked for Tuesday through Thursday this week you are already set to go. Please contact the office if you have any problems. We will be leaving the school gates unlocked for this until 5pm.
Interschool Cross Country - Congratulations to our Renwick Team - they were outstanding and their results terrific. Thank you too to Mr Waechter for co-ordinating this for our school and keeping our team fit.
Shadow, our School Cat for the last 12 years was put to rest on Friday in a special, private ceremony. Shadow was unwell and his illness was beginning to cause him great discomfort and pain. He has been a great cat for our school over such a long time. So many of our students have been his carers and feeders over the years and many staff have been very attached to him as well. We will miss him very much. I have attached a photo of Shadow. Rest in Peace our loved Renwick School Cat. Shadow is buried in the rose garden in front of the school administration block where he used to stretch out in the sun. We have a small plaque being made for him which will be in place soon.
No reira - Please take good care of yourselves and be kind. It is a good tonic for all of us as we re-enter uncertain times.
Have a good week

Interschool Cross Country Results 2020
Last Tuesday saw 40 students from Renwick School compete in the regional Cross Country at the Wither Hills Farm park.
It is a fairly flat course but challenging nonetheless, especially competing against top runners from other schools around the region. We sent our top 5 placegetters from each age group. A huge congratulations and thank you to all students that ran in this race. They did themselves and Renwick School incredibly proud. We had an astounding fourteen Top 10 placegetters! This is a credit to the dedication and hard work these students have had towards our schools daily fitness programme and their cross country training.
