Thank you everyone for your continued support re our our current Alert Level 2 status. Today we will find out whether or not we will being moving back to AL1 or AL1.5?? Once again, our students have been terrific throughout and this is testimony to the great support of you, our mums and dads. Thank you!!
Community Meeting - Next Tuesday night September 1st beginning 7pm at the Giesen Centre we have a trade fair type series of presentations for you to update you on all the exciting things happening at school. We want this evening to be informative but not a talk fest. We will be setting up around 12 information stands manned by students, staff and board members who will sharing up to date information about several specific projects underway across and around the school right now. We have our FORS team catering tea/coffee refreshments and maybe even a glass of wine can be purchased from the bar. We hope you can make it - we look forward to seeing you.
Daffodil Day this Friday - So many of our us have been effected by cancer. Whether it be family or friends it is a terrible disease and daffodil day is great way for us to take time to think, support the fundraising and help a great cause.
Reporting Review - Thank you to the so many parents/whanau that have fed back through our quick online survey. We have now established a review team to process all the feedback from community and staff and be guided by our terms of reference to make improvements to our system.
Student Absences/Lateness - With a school roll of 570 we have a level of absence everyday that is proportionate with this number of students. With an average of 35 absences each day you can imagine that it is a major administrative undertaking to follow up on parents/whanau when we have received no notification. Please, it is important to register your childs absence on Skool Loop so that we have that record straight away. If you don't yet have Skool Loop then please ring the school before the school day begins so that we can account for your child.
We also have a number of regular late arrivals each day. Again mums and dads, please let us know so we can account for your child. The alternative is make sure your children get to school on time every day. This is so very important - thank you all for your support here.
Give it a Go Kid - Congratulations to our latest very deserving senior recipient.
Ethan Roberts - Ethan, you have put in a huge amount of effort, time and dedication to all of your learning this year. You are doing everything you can to make your final year at Renwick School a memorable one that you will not forget, or regret. You can be incredibly proud of this. It is not every day that teacher's see a student wanting to practice their maths knowledge before school, or wanting to do a running record in their free time to see where they are at. These are just two examples of ways in which you are trying to better yourself as a person set yourself up for your future. This shows extreme maturity and self worth. You are also a great friend and peer to other students and you know how to make learning fun and enjoyable for yourself. You have taken on numerous leadership roles this year, including the Road Patrol Leader. There is not a day we can't count on you to be out there and help when others are away, zero complaints, just getting the job done. This shows commitment and responsibility, two qualities a good leader possesses. Many teachers have also commented on your effort and enthusiastic approach to your learning Ethan. You are definitely leaving your mark on Renwick School, and it's all positive! Your hard work does not go unnoticed and so you are a very deserving recipient of the Give It A Go Kid award. Congratulations and well done.
